Honest assessment
Sometimes the right call is "prune, don't remove." Sometimes it's "this one's coming down in the next storm whether you want it to or not." We tell you straight, even when the smaller job pays us less.
Family Tree Services is a Salmeron family business based in West Asheville. We're not a franchise, not a national chain. We're the crew your neighbor probably already called.
Family Tree Services has grown up the way most honest small businesses in Western North Carolina do: one neighbor's job at a time, one careful prune at a time, one Saturday call after a thunderstorm at a time.
We're the Salmeron family. We work out of a yard on Oakcrest Drive in West Asheville, we know the species in your yard, and we know what kind of wind takes down hemlocks in February vs. what kind of ice storm splits white oaks in January.
Our crew works with an ISA-certified arborist on staff. That's not required by North Carolina law — and frankly, that's the problem. Anyone with a chainsaw and a magnetic sign can call themselves a tree company here. We choose to hold ourselves to a higher standard.
When you call our number, you'll talk to a family member. Not a call center. Not a chatbot. Not a salesperson on commission.

Itemized, written estimate before any saw runs. No surprise charges, no "we found something else" mid-job. What we quote is what you pay.
If we say 9:30 Tuesday, we'll be there 9:30 Tuesday. If something happens, we call before the window — not after. Your time is worth at least as much as ours.
Tarps under the work zone. Branches chipped. Logs hauled (or stacked for firewood if you want them). Sawdust raked. We leave your yard like we'd want ours left.
Climbing, rigging, cutting, grinding, hauling — this is the work, in every season Asheville throws at us.

Representative tree-work photography — ask us for recent local job photos when you call.
Note: North Carolina does not require state arborist licensing. We voluntarily carry industry-leading credentials — current ISA Certified Arborist ID and complete certificate of insurance available on request before any work begins.
We'll listen first. Look at the tree second. Quote third. No high-pressure sales — that's not how Salmerons do business.
